About Us
Waves of Knowledge Publishing Co. is a publishing enterprise out of Our Lady of Peace School in Ottawa, Ontario.
We are a grade 6 immersion class who started a book publishing company last year in our grade 5 & 6 class. The publishing company was part of an entrepreneurial project where we published a book written and illustrated by us centred around the theme of WATER!
This school year the grade 5 students from last year are now in grade 6 and we are super excited to continue with our publishing company!
We have a great new idea for our next product but we need some seed money to fund our research and development. So, we started our Christmas Card Collection to help fund our new endeavour!
The OCSB Social Entrepreneur Program
As a class, we joined with the Social Entrepreneur Program at OCSB. This program provides students with the opportunity to learn about businesses, entrepreneurship, and finance in a hands on manner by actually creating a business.
We are given the opportunity to work with a Business Mentor to help us with our entrepreneurial journey.
Through this program we have been challenged to develop a product or service to sell. Since we are social entrepreneurs, our product should help the world in some way and work toward one of the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals.
